Past assignments
Christies – rescue and re-alignment of a program of strategic business projects being run as IT projects. Stopped on-going investment of circa $1m+/month and recreated the program as a business program
Nokia – designed a portfolio management structure to align the existing portfolio of 300+ IT Programs with the business; implemented business led governance for an IT investment portfolio
HP – Helped the internal IT Consulting unit develop a business rather than technology consulting approach to clients
Major energy company – Assessment and subsequent development of the company’s project management standards and methods, including the delivery of workshops and training programmes across the organisation.
Outcome: Successful introduction of standard corporate tools, philosophies, language, systems and methods for project and portfolio management.
Major airline – Assessed current Portfolio Management approach and developed a roadmap for implementation
Danzas – Rescued an Operational IT system project that failed after go-live, getting it under control and stabilised.
Global Logistics company – Managing the transition of customer information, EDI systems and financial systems from a newly acquired international company to the group’s operational systems.
Outcome: Initial milestones achieved and subsequent projects running to plan.
Major energy company – Programme managing the design and implementation of a point of reference data centre for the company and potential joint venture partners. Commencing with investment case and key stakeholder consultation.
Outcome: Good feedback from stakeholders. Client’s original investment case / risk assessment refined.
Deutsche Post World Net – Migrating the financial processes of 5 multicultural organisations onto a single platform and creating a new shared financial service in Cologne.
Outcome: Significant synergies and cost savings achieved with the successful completion of the project
DHL IT Shared Service Centre Prague – Project Management of a new global data centre in Prague. Definition of business case (hundreds of millions of €s investment), ongoing responsibility for financial consulting to the centre.
Outcome: Savings were over Euro 40m per year
